Hell's Paradise season 2: release date, episodes and what to know before you watch
Season 2 aired January 11 to March 29, 2026, with 12 episodes. Here is where it streams, what to know before you start, and whether season 3 is announced.

Hell's Paradise season 2 has already aired. It ran for 12 episodes from January 11 to March 29, 2026, on TV Tokyo in Japan, and Crunchyroll streamed it outside Asia as it aired. Together with the 13 episodes of season 1 that makes 25 episodes. As of November 5, 2026, no third season has been officially announced.

Release dates and episode count

Season 2 premiered on Sunday, January 11, 2026, and the finale aired on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Anime Corner's finale preview, published March 26, gave the March 29 date, and Wikipedia's season page lists the same run. Radio Times and the Anime News Network encyclopedia both list 12 episodes, at roughly 23 to 24 minutes each, so the full season is under five and a half hours.

One detail that confuses people looking for episode pages: Crunchyroll's listings continue the numbering from season 1. The premiere, "Dawn and Confusion", appears as episode 14, and the finale, "Endings and Beginnings", as episode 25. If you search for "episode 14" or "episode 25" and wonder where they came from, this is why. The season 2 episodes are numbered 1 to 12 on most databases and 14 to 25 on Crunchyroll.

The season was a single continuous cour. It was not split into parts, so there is no "part 2" still to come.

Where to watch Hell's Paradise

Availability depends on your country, and licenses change, so check the service's own page for your region before you subscribe.

  • Outside Asia: Crunchyroll is the official licensor and streamed season 2 as a simulcast, according to Crunchyroll's own coverage and Anime Corner.
  • Asia-Pacific: Wikipedia lists Netflix as the streamer for the series in Asia-Pacific (excluding Mainland China, Australia and New Zealand), which was the case for season 1. Some outlets reported that season 2 would also be on Netflix in Asia, but I could not confirm that against a Netflix or licensor page. In the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, look at Netflix's title page for your country.
  • Japan: broadcast on TV Tokyo. The official Japanese key visual also lists Prime Video, Netflix and Lemino as streaming services in Japan.

An English dub is not covered here because I could not confirm it from an official source. Check Crunchyroll's page for current audio options.

Is there a Hell's Paradise season 3?

Not officially, as of November 5, 2026. I found no announcement from MAPPA, the publisher, Crunchyroll or the series' official channels. Neither the season 2 finale preview nor Wikipedia's season 2 page mentions a third season. The most recent third-party reports I could find, dated up to about August 2026, say the same: no confirmation.

The manga is finished, so source material exists. The anime's adaptation, according to Wikipedia, covers the "Lord Tensen" and "Hōrai" arcs, drawing on chapters 60 to 89 and chapter 94, which leaves a large part of the 127-chapter manga unadapted. That is a reason fans expect more, but it is not a confirmation. Release windows such as 2027 or 2028 are fan estimates based on the roughly 2.5 year gap between seasons 1 and 2, not studio dates.

The best way to track this is the official site and social accounts of the anime and Crunchyroll's news page. This guide will be updated if an announcement lands.

What to know before you watch

You need season 1 first

Season 2 continues the story from season 1, so start with episode 1 of season 1.

The premise, without spoilers

Gabimaru is a shinobi condemned to death who cannot die because he wants to return to his wife. The shogunate offers a pardon if he retrieves the Elixir of Life from Shinsenkyo, a mysterious island. He is paired with Sagiri, an executioner from the Yamada Asaemon family, and sent in with other convicts. The island is full of supernatural creatures that make the mission a survival story.

What season 2 covers

Season 2 follows the survivors into the island's inner stronghold and the confrontation with the beings who rule it, while the shogunate sends further expeditions. MAPPA animated it again, with Kaori Makita directing, Akitsugu Hisagi on character design and Yoshiaki Dewa on music. The opening theme is "Kasuka na Hana" by Tatsuya Kitani featuring Babymetal, and the ending is "Personal" by Queen Bee, per Wikipedia.

Does the finale close the story?

Spoiler-free answer: reviewers describe the finale, "Endings and Beginnings", as closing the immediate conflict while leaving the larger story open. If you need a complete ending in the anime alone, it does not give one, and the manga is the source for what follows.

Content notes

Expect graphic violence, dismemberment and body horror, and a high death count among named characters. It is not sexually explicit. It is a better fit for viewers comfortable with dark action than for anyone who wants a light adventure.

If you want something similar

None of these are Hell's Paradise, but they share its mix of dark fantasy, grim violence and a hunt through dangerous places.

  • Dorohedoro (2020, 12 episodes): grotesque, funny and violent, in a world of sorcerers and a man with a reptile head.
  • Dororo (2019, 24 episodes): a swordsman reclaims his body from demons, in feudal Japan.
  • Berserk (2016) (12 episodes): brutal dark fantasy. See also our Berserk watch order.
  • Mononoke (2007, 12 episodes): a stylized supernatural mystery that rewards patient viewers.
  • Hellsing (2001, 13 episodes): a gothic vampire action series with a heavy tone.

For more dark and mature picks, browse the seinen category, and read what seinen means if you are not sure how the term applies. Hell's Paradise itself ran in Shonen Jump+, a shonen magazine, but its content is clearly aimed at adults.

Hell's Paradise itself is not yet in our catalogue, so there is no title page to link to yet.
